(P302) Challenges of a Nurse-Driven Hypoglycemia Stand-Alone Protocol

To reduce the number of electronically reported hypoglycemic events in the hospital, the poster authors review how they developed and piloted a nurse-driven hypoglycemia protocol based on the 2023 ADA Standards of Care with the support of the Chief of Endocrinology, diabetes educators, diabetes resource nurses, and the unit director. This poster outlines barriers that were encountered and reports metrics captured before and after the intervention. Additionally, the authors make recommendations for simplifying future protocols that all nurses can follow.
