(P206) Impact of Professional Continuous Glucose Monitors for Diabetes Management in Uninsured and Underinsured Patients: A Retrospective Study

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices have the potential to greatly improve patient quality of life and reduce "disease burnout" by offering an alternative to traditional blood glucose monitoring methods such as the fingerstick method. Pharmacist involvement in glycemic management can aid in reducing healthcare resource strain as patients work to maintain diabetes management and avoid acute care settings for diabetes-related complications. Future studies are needed to consider the cost evaluation for third-party payers to exhibit the value of Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices and the minimal difference in price from traditional testing methods compared to the utility and quantity of data obtained. This poster describes an IRB-approved retrospective analysis to assess pharmacist-led patient-specific interventions made for patients with diabetes based on data obtained from November 2020 through December 2022 using Freestyle Libre Professional CGM devices.
