The Hispanic/Latino population experiences more diabetes disparities compared to non-Hispanic whites. Mexican American men have the highest prevalence and mortality rates compared to non-Hispanic whites. Moreover, Mexican American men and men, in general, are less likely to participate in diabetes education programs compared to females. This poster discusses the Diabetes Garage, a culturally tailored program that shows efficacy in engaging men to participate in and complete diabetes self-management and education programs.
