Clinical Nurse Specialist University of Wisconsin Health - UW Health Kids Deforest, Wisconsin, United States
School nurses are integral to the health of children with diabetes, and frequently provide or oversee diabetes management at school. Rapid changes in diabetes care and technology continue and yet, opportunities for practical and up-to-date diabetes education tailored to the needs of school nurses are limited. Diabetes in School Health (DiSH) is a telementoring program designed to provide ongoing education about diabetes care and technology to school nurses. Each session features a presentation by a content expert, followed by discussion of practical issues in diabetes care between school nurses and diabetes experts. This poster will present a summary of DiSH, an overview of topics covered, longitudinal program feedback from participants, and similarities and differences between DiSH in three states.
