(P529) Preliminary Outcomes of an Inpatient Pediatric Continuous Glucose Monitor Pilot Program

Management of diabetes in children, adolescents, and young adults is complex, warranting frequent monitoring and review of health data. Robust literature exists demonstrating the clinical value of utilizing continuous glucose monitors (CGM) in diabetes management; however, not everyone with diabetes can access CGM. This poster outlines an inpatient CGM pilot program, targeting pediatric participants admitted to the four-week Chronic Illness Management Program at Children’s Specialized Hospital, from January through December 2022. The initial analysis highlights outcomes such as participant access to CGM, impact on diabetes management, and successes and challenges of program implementation. The ongoing analysis aims to explore improving access to life-changing diabetes technologies on a larger scale and leveraging outcomes to support continued programming.
