(P500) Telehealth Policy Changes Impact DSMES Outcomes for Children with Diabetes in Low-income Neighborhoods

Historically, when comparing populations from lower-income to higher-income neighborhoods, a gap has existed in the ability for people with diabetes to achieve good outcomes. Health is a basic human right. Overall, 26.9% of children in El Paso, Texas live in poverty compared to 16.8% nationally. Children with diabetes are included. El Paso Children's Hospital adopted policies to allow the CDCES to provide DSMES via telehealth. Every effort is made to allow for remote-patient monitoring and data-sharing to aid the CDCES to assist the child with diabetes and their families reach their goals. This poster will review the data collected.
