From continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and remote blood pressure machines to electronic food diaries, electronic scales, telehealth, and online classes, the use of technology in healthcare is rapidly increasing. Many people living with various health conditions have been empowered to take charge of their health by using this technology and organizations are seeing gains in achieving desired outcomes and goals. However, are these advances and advantages helping everyone achieve better health? Are they addressing health inequities or expanding them? This session discusses the utilization and adoption of health care technology through the lens of an under-resourced community program and outlines best practices for engaging clients and participants in improving their health.
