Approximately 64,000 people under the age of 20 years are diagnosed with diabetes each year. Children spend most of their day in school, daycare, camp, and/or sporting events. This session will discuss how a diabetes education program designated for school nurses and personnel helped bridge knowledge gaps to ensure safety and support for students with diabetes. Highlighting this process will allow other communities to successfully advocate for youth with diabetes by working as a partner with various educational institutions.
