The use of CGM technology has been shown to improve glycemic outcomes in persons with diabetes. The technology is relatively expensive and not readily available to a disproportionate number of persons who could benefit from it. Furthermore, other social determinants of health (SDOH) impact the use of CGM in disadvantaged populations. In this session, we will discuss strategies to improve health equity by addressing SDOH barriers in relation to CGM utilization. Case studies will be presented that highlight how these strategies help improve glycemic management when health equity is made a priority.
