Scripps Health has successfully integrated real-time continuous glucose monitoring (RT-CGM) with a remote monitoring dashboard for inpatient glucose management as part of a community hospital quality improvement initiative. This session will review the implementation of RT-CGM as a tool to help with glucose management and early detection of pending hypoglycemia, as well as clinical considerations and nursing education. The presenter will also review the use of retrospective CGM data to evaluate glucose management protocols and titrate insulin for hospitalized patients, which is especially helpful in managing patients receiving enteral nutrition.
