D36 - Fight Racism and Discrimination: The Art, Tea, DEI, Accessibility, and Belonging Program

The Art, Tea, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, & Belonging (ATDEIAB) Program uses resilient narratives, poetry, etc., to facilitate dialogue around complex workplace topics such as racism and discrimination. Implemented in the workplace, ATDEIAB takes a trauma-informed approach using art and the social and emotional learning framework. Session attendees will learn how to interact better with others that are different from themselves. Additionally, attendees will be able to assess their adverse childhood experiences and learn how to make the appropriate changes to excel in the workplace. Ultimately, session attendees will gain skills to provide more equitable services for individuals in their care and to relate at a deeper, more empathetic level with fellow care and education specialists.
