By adulthood, more than 35% of people with the childhood chronic condition, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), develop related diabetes (CFRD), and over half that undergo solid organ transplants develop subsequent diabetes. Interdisciplinary DCES can uniquely support this population with a known risk of diabetes. Attendees can participate in the “straw exercise” CF breathing simulation in this interactive presentation. Case studies highlighting ambulatory continuous glucose profiles of CFRD will be presented and discussed. Practice pearls and an update on psychosocial care will be given to support the optimization of care for this population. The presentation will close with a question-and-answer panel featuring a CF patient turned CDCES expert in CFRD.
