As device technology evolves, it is important that the DCES is able to provide expert technology-enabled support to those living with diabetes. Device reports have many layers to uncover, and it is vital to interpret the basics of each report while also identifying key patterns and patient-related factors that are less obvious, yet common, such as those relating to accurate carbohydrate entry, correcting hyper/hypoglycemia, timing of boluses, adjustment of time-in-range parameters, balancing settings, and pump infusion site troubleshooting. This session will describe how a patient-centered appointment, focused on shared decision-making, can lead to optimizing patient technology.
