In young people with Type 1 diabetes, diabetes distress and burnout are highly prevalent. Diabetes distress and burnout can cripple self-management, leading to frequent episodes of diabetic ketoacidosis and devastating complications. The Future: Diabetes Youth and Parent Group(DYPG), was developed to support a high-risk population of young people with diabetes, as they transitioned from inpatient to outpatient at Comer Children’s Hospital. The DYPG has continued to thrive and expand, even thru the pandemic! Take this opportunity to meet members of their interdisciplinary team and connect with the Mosby family to hear about the program’s journey and the impact on one of its families.
