Mei-Hua Chen graduated from Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health with a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health. She also graduated from New York College of Health Professions with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine as well as from Pacific College of Health and Science with a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Prior to her study in the U.S.A, she already graduated from Chinese Culture University with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition and a Master of Science in Food and Nutrition.
Mei-Hua is a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (C.D.N.) and a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (R.D.N.) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). She is also a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist (L. Ac.) and a National Board-Certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Her extended professional qualifications include being a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (C.D.C.E.S.) at Maternal Fetal Medicine Center of Good Samarian Hospital currently and being a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (C.N.S.C.) and a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (C.S.P.) at Pediatric Gastroenterology-Nutrition of Cohen Children Medical Center for more than 15 years previously. Pursuing her wide range of interests, she also is a Certified Reiki Master, a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and a Certified Zumba Instructor in Zumba Basic, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold, Zumba Kids, Zumba Kids Jr and Zumba Step.
With her extensive training and experience in both Western science and Eastern medicine, she has developed unique approaches when dealing with health-related issues. She would utilize various approaches (Western Medical Science and Eastern Medicine) to resolve or improve those issues. The modalities can be included dietary therapy (Western and Eastern), behavioral modification, physical activity (Tai Ji and Qi Gong), Reiki, acupuncture, Tuina medical massage, moxibustion, cupping, Guasha, and Chinese herbal medicine.
