Prolonged hyperglycemia has a significant impact on hearing loss, balance issues, and depression. It is important to set up appropriate care team infrastructure for referral and treatment of these complications. In this session, presenters will review the appropriate assessment techniques, what happens after a referral is made, and the impacts of untreated hearing loss on the person with diabetes and then focus on how to decrease prolonged hyperglycemia by managing post-meal blood sugars.
